Shaun G was a vibrant and intelligent young man and was one of the original founders of Soulgood Events. On October 28, 2010 at the age of 28, Shaun Kenneth Gauthier succumbed to Angiosarcoma – an extremely rare and aggressive form of cancer. Brave and positive right to the end, he was taken away from his friends and family too soon.
Below we had a chance to reminisce about Shaun with one of his best friends, Pedro from Soulgood;
We were best friends who threw parties together.
He was a charismatic person who touched the hearts of many people in the nightlife scene. He was an integral part of the industry not only throwing parties, but also maintaining many relationships via his job at Bacardi. He was, and is still loved by many.
There are way too many to just pick one! However, since it’s his birthday today, I will say that time I encouraged someone to cake him at the club definitely stands out. For years Shaun would try to accuse me as the instigator for the caking but he would never find out for sure because I convinced the person who did it to also take the heat for it.
This foundation is so important because it keeps his spirit alive. His parents maintain and take care of the foundation through the Vancouver Foundation which is an organization that takes care of smaller non-profit foundations. It’s something his parents enjoy taking care of as they love helping others in Shaun’s name.
Gone but never forgotten, Soulgood will be hosting a Remember Shaun G party on Tuesday, November 10th to celebrate Shaun’s life with partial bar sales benefitting the Shaun G Foundation. All you need to do is RSVP to attend the party for free.get tickets
