1) Eminem

In his nearly two-decade career, Eminem remains arguably one of the most technically gifted & controversial rappers alive. To date, Squamish is Eminem’s only Festival announcement in 2014, and will be his first western Canadian show in more than a decade. No doubt – we’ll be more than ready to lose ourselves in the moment when he hits the Squamish main stage this summer.

2) The Roots

As pioneers of the live-rap movement, it’s not an exaggeration to say that the Roots are champions of being hip-hop’s most idolized live band for over fifteen years. Come 2009, the Roots began tenure as the house band on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Devout Roots fans need not panic, as the Philly crew remains hitting festival grounds nearly 10 weeks every year, including Squamish 2014.

Seamlessly mixing and remixing on the spot, Ridha never fails to deliver high-powered and energetic sets: definitely one that is bound to be an unforgettable experience for the Squamish crowd this year.

Jamie-Jones-8

6) Jamie Jones

Jamie Jones’ rise to the top has been a steady climb. The UK fave always respected by fellow peers and artists’ and now widely admired as one of the best in the currently rising house music movement. The past few years have seen Jamie launch his own pioneering label and brand, Hot Creations, and production outfit Hot Natured, forging his own path with a highly original sound, as both a solo artist and with various collaborations. 7) Danny Brown

Coming on the heels of his breakthrough releases XXX & Old, Fool’s Gold-signed Danny Brown’s long-time-coming career in hip-hop has catapulted him into the festival scene. Over the course of a decade making mixtapes in both Detroit and New York, he’s taken his time perfecting a sound—aggressively high-pitched vocals over hypnotic electro beats—unlike anything ever heard in hip-hop & one act that is a can’t miss at Squamish this year.

breach2

8) Breach

Bristol-bred singer/musician/DJ/producer Ben Westbeech, otherwise known by his dance-music alter-ego Breach is clearly unstoppable. The pinnacle of his success came last summer when, “Jack”—a catchy house tune he created in just a few hours to complement another planned release—cast a spell on our Blueprint scene, festival goers and DJs across the globe. Quickly becoming one of last year’s biggest anthems, he’s bound to bring Squamish down to the masses.

9) Lykke Li

Swede-heart Lykke Li doesn’t need too much introduction, as the postmodern-pop-delight has gained critical acclaim from her 2008 debut that catapulted in the global festival scene. With her distinctive wavering vocals & captivating live sets, the Squamish 2014 crowd is going to be lucky enough to witness this rare talent.

10) Felix Cartal

A longtime member of the Blueprint fam, Vancouver native Felix Cartal is no newcomer to the electronic scene, having been producing and remixing since the age of 15. Felix released his first EP under Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak Records in 2009, and has since played all over the world and a frequent favorite at Blueprint shows. Make sure to catch his set with us this summer, as it’ll be a family affair to remember with the Squamish squad.
