The Ultimate Vancouver Caesar Guide

The Ultimate Vancouver Caesar Guide

201168-barque-drinks

The indisputable truth is that a quality caesar is what transforms a good brunch spot or watering hole into a great one. In one of our (rather hungover) ventures to find the nearest caesar, we found the current records of Vancouver’s red gold lacking and set out to compile a list of the city’s best caesars, bar none. Enjoy, and soldier on.

Top Picks

1. The Fish Shack – Four to choose from

a. The Fish Shack’s Very Own – pinnacle vodka, house caesar mix (clamato & tomato juice, horseradish, tabasco, worcestershire, fresh lime juice, s&p, dijon mustard), prawn & pepperoni stick

b. Sunday Bloody Sunday – Jameson irish whiskey, clamato, horseradish, tabasco, worcestershire, fresh lime juice, s&p, topped with a fresh clam

c. British Columbian Breakfast – Bombay gin, clamato, horseradish, tabasco, worcestershire, fresh lime juice, s&p, olive brine, served with fresh cucumber & picked vegetables

d. Red Sky In The Morning – Sauza silver tequila, clamato, horseradish, tabasco, worcestershire, fresh lime juice, s&p, cayenne, salt rim, served with seared scallops & house baked bacon strip

2. Joe Forte’s

What the Forte’s caesar lacks in creativity, it makes up for a thousand-fold in execution. If you’re looking for a damn good caesar that leaves you satisfied (and with a hot tongue), look no further.

3. Local Kitsilano

A rite of passage for Vancouverites, Local’s caesar-in-a-boot is a playful salute to the hungover.

4. The Mill – Five to choose from

Variety is the spice of life, and caesars are the spice of any drinks menu. The Mill brings fresh flavors to the table and goes the extra mile with its customizable Original.

a. Julius Caesar – vodka, fresh basil, balsamic vinegar, bocconcini basil tomato skewer

b. Danger Bay – vodka, fresh dill, dijon, dill-lemon salted rim, candied BC salmon skewer

c. John Wayne – tequila, cilantro, cumin, chili-lime salted rim, spicy pepper

d. Albertan – vodka, jack daniel’s, bbq sauce, steak spice rim, bacon

e. Original Caesar – choice of garnish: bacon, candied salmon, spicy pepper, bocconcini basil tomato skewer
