International music personality, talent manager and creative agency head, Caroline Hoste, joins Blueprint as Director of Business Development
September 22, 2014 (Vancouver, BC) – Vancouver-based events, concerts, entertainment and lifestyle house, Blueprint, is thrilled to announce an exciting new addition to the team: internationally known personality, Caroline Hoste, who joins the company’s fold as Director of Business Development. With over two decades of experience within the music industry, including all aspects of management, launching an international booking agency, A&R, music licensing, event production and influencer branding, Caroline will be dedicated to purveying new opportunities for Blueprint internationally and across western Canada.
Following her innate passion for bringing people together, Hoste’s start began at the early age of 19, where she worked in music promotions out of Manchester, UK, often traveling back and forth to Vancouver – sharing new music by connecting artists and promoters. She then began working with Steve Macklam and Sam Feldman project managing Irish band The Chieftains. Within a year she had launched an international booking agency, MUSIC2. At its height the company represented 40 international acts.
Hoste then built and astutely guided MUSIC2 into a management company, managing several international recording artists as well as functioning as a licensing company alongside partner Gerard Talbot in Los Angeles. Although a majority of her business comes internationally, Caroline resides on Vancouver Island from where she has developed her latest venture, Hello Stranger. The creative agency acts with the objective of bringing together artists and brands alike in shaping ideas & attracting audiences in unexpected ways. Hello Stranger is currently active and working on contracts with the City of Palm Springs, Disney, Lucasfilm and computer gaming brand Razer. Blueprint’s Alvaro Prol and Hoste are currently working towards expanding Hello Stranger’s future business.
Of the new hire, Prol expands, “I’ve personally known Caroline for fifteen plus years, where originally I would book her talent out of the UK to bring into Vancouver – but she’s also got close ties with several of our key team members. So this is really a friendship that has evolved to merge our experience.”
“The fact that Caroline has such a vast experience in the music and entertainment industry is a huge asset for us at Blueprint. She brings a seasoned understanding of the artist’s perspective and incredible proficiency working with corporate brands – and when it comes to working with artists, it’s this multi-faceted point of view that we see taking our company leaps and bounds ahead. Everyone at Blueprint is excited for Caroline, and the vibrancy she exudes, to join the team,” adds Prol.
For Caroline, the opportunity to work within Blueprint comes with a number of positive attributes; from being able to work in BC, a place she is dedicated to and proud to call home, to embracing the idea of becoming part of a large and dynamic in-house team where creativity and skill sets flourish. Undoubtedly, Hoste’s unique & successful take on bringing individuals together will further build the foundation of the Blueprint community.
“I am in awe of what Alvaro, Bill, Chris and the team at Blueprint has built. It is formidable and it’s come up so unbelievably fast – and I really believe the sky is the limit,” says Hoste of joining Blueprint. “This is a group with an incredible amount of energy and experience. I have a hell of a lot of respect, love and trust for Alvaro and everyone at Blueprint am honored to be able to step into these shoes.”
Under Blueprint, Hoste will be focused on building sponsorships, partnerships, charity policies, corporate events, bookings, over all business development and more, for the company. Her varied and international experience is set to provide Blueprint with additional avenues for long-term growth and expansion in a multitude of facets of music and entertainment.
